Tour Overview

Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge is in Southcentral Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula on Fox Island in Resurrection Bay, just outside Seward. Just a one-hour boat ride from Seward, this lodge offers a comfortable and convenient wilderness lodge stay in Alaska. The lodge accommodates 18 guests in comfortable, cabin-style rooms with private baths and expertly prepared meals, ensuring you will experience an intimate overnight stay enjoying the quiet solitude of Resurrection Bay. The lodge offers a variety of guest activities, including quiet walks on the lodge’s secluded beach, hikes on nearby mountain trails, guided sea kayaking trips, bird watching, and learning about local marine life on Fox Island. On the return trip to Seward, all overnight trips to Fox Island include a more in-depth boat cruise with wildlife viewing and glacier views.

Tour Itinerary

Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge is located on Fox Island. You can connect with the boat transfer from Seward to Fox Island by arriving in Seward by train, scheduled bus service or rental car.

Day 1
Seward to Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge

Transfer on own to Seward small boat harbor. At noon you will depart for a 1 hour cruise to Fox Island. On arrival at the lodge you will receive a short orientation and enjoy a delicious lunch. Afterwards settle into your cabin and explore this beautiful area. Take a self guided hike or enjoy a walk on the beach. Dinner served this evening. Overnight Fox Island.

Day 2
Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge

Today, get out on the water for a guided kayaking tour (2 – 6.5 hours long – tour could also take place on day 1, depending on availability).  Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery at Fox Island.

Day 3
Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge to Seward

Today enjoy a longer and more in-depth boat cruise before you return to Seward. Depending on the time of the year and weather conditions you cruise through Kenai Fjords National Park, or possibly through Northwestern Fjord. This gives you the opportunity to see more of the stunning landscape of this coastal park as well as tidewater glaciers such as Holgate Glacier, Aialik Glacier or Northwestern Glacier. You may even see a glacier calving! Along the way keep an eye out for Stellar sea lions, harbor seals, puffins, eagles, and whales. A meal is included on the cruise. Return to Seward between 2pm and 5:00pm.

Special Cancellation Policy:
Up to 61 days prior to lodge stay: 10% cancellation fee
60 to 31 days prior to lodge stay: 50% cancellation fee
30 to 0 days prior to lodge stay: 100% cancellation fee
