For travelers with only a couple of days to tour before getting on an Alaska cruise, we offer this fast paced itinerary. In just 3 days / 2 nights, see Alaska’s two largest cities, travel in style on the Alaska Railroad, watch for wildlife deep inside Denali National Park, and experience the striking beauty of Turnagain Arm. We recommend a longer land tour at a more relaxed pace, but if you are short on time, this tour package will show you the highlights!

Fairbanks Arrival

Arrive into Fairbanks at any time. Transfer from the airport by hotel shuttle. Depending on when you arrive, you may have time for optional activities, such as an historic sternwheeler riverboat cruise (not included – see Add On Tours). Overnight in Fairbanks.

Fairbanks to Denali by Rail – with Denali National Park Tour

Transfer by hotel shuttle to the Alaska Railroad station. Depart at 8:15am to Denali aboard the Alaska Railroad, arriving at 12:15pm. After checking into your hotel, depart on a bus tour of Denali National Park. This 6 to 8 hour narrated tour takes you approximately 55 miles into the Park. As you travel through the pristine wilderness, look for wildlife, such as bears, caribou, and moose, as well as views of Mt. McKinley. A snack box is included. Overnight near the Denali park entrance.

Denali to Seward by Motorcoach

Depart Denali at 7:45am aboard a comfortable motorcoach. The driver will provide narration as you travel on the nationally recognized Parks Highway through Alaska's spectacular scenery and small historic towns. You will have a layover of about 90 minutes in Anchorage so that you can purchase lunch. Continue to Seward along scenic Cook Inlet and Turnagain Arm. Few roads in the United States can offer the diversity of scenic landscapes and unique natural features so concentrated in one area. You will arrive at the cruise dock in Seward at 5:45pm.

(Motorcoach to Whittier is available for the same price, arriving at 4:45pm. Please notify us if your ship departs from Whittier.)
