The ranger will lead a narrated walk to a viewing platform about 1.5 miles from the starting point (about 3 miles roundtrip). After an approx. 1.5 hour transfer from Anchorage you arrive at Knik River Lodge. Here you will board a helicopter for a 15 minute flight up on a glacier. After landing on the glacier meet your experienced guide and be outfitted with the necessary gear, such as non-slip overboots. After a final safety check you will venture out onto the ice and gain a unique perspective of this frozen landscape. See crevasses, melt-pools and stunning ice sculptures created by water, wind and sun. You will spend approx. 4 hours on the glacier exploring by foot before you fly back with incredible memories.
