Explore the wilderness trails of Chugach State Park! The park offers a
variety of trails to suit your interests and ability, including easy wooded
paths and strenuous mountain hikes with views. On your approx. 4 hour hike, our
naturalist guide will point out and discuss the flora and fauna, which can
include moose, marmots, eagles, and other local species. No experience
necessary. Tour includes: trekking pole, snack and transfers from most

In the morning depart on the Alaska Railroad for a 3.5 hour ride to Spencer
Glacier in the remote Chugach Mountains. Enjoy lunch before boarding your raft
for a 2 hour gentle float among the icebergs at Spencer Lake and down the Placer
River. This tour is great for families or those seeking a relaxing outdoor
adventure! You will return to Anchorage around 19:00H by scheduled
motorcoach. Tour includes: services of professional guides, raingear, rubber
boots, and deli-lunch. Not included: Transfers to and from your hotel

Enjoy a hike amongst beautiful scenery, blue icebergs and onto a majestic
glacier. Arrive at Spencer Glacier Whistle Stop aboard the Alaska Railroad.
After a short van ride, hike about 2 miles of flat forest service trail to the
edge of Spencer Glacier. Get outfitted with helmets and crampons. After a brief
safety lesson and practice getting comfortable with the crampons, the group will
venture out onto the glacier itself. About two hours will be spent exploring the
glaciers features, including crevasses, ice caves, moulins, and more.
Experienced glacier guides provide information on local wildlife, history and
glaciology. Return to Anchorage by van and train. Tour includes:
roundtrip train transportation from Anchorage, services of knowledgeable guides,
use of helmets and crampons, and a deli style lunch. Not
included: transfers in Anchorage (Tour departs from the Anchorage
Railroad Station).
NOTE: Participants must be physically
capable of hiking up to 7 miles on potentially uneven terrain and must dress
appropriately for all weather. There is a 2 person minimum for this tour to
operate. Minimum age limit of 13.

After a 1-1.5 hour transfer (one way) from Anchorage you arrive at Knik
River Lodge. From Knik River Lodge you will take a breathtaking 15-20 minute
helicopter ride up to a glacier. After landing on the glacier, you will
experience a dog sledding adventure that you will never forget. Meet an
experienced Iditarod Musher who will teach you to mush your own dog sled team
along one of the most scenic snow covered glaciers! (approx. 1 hour on the
glacier). Tour includes: Roundtrip transfer from Anchorage to Knik
River Lodge, helicopter flight and dog sledding on a glacier. Not
included: transfers in Anchorage and meals. (Tour departs from designated
Anchorage hotels only)
NOTE: Please note that there are 3 passenger
seats in the helicopter. There are passenger weight limits because the overall
weight of the helicopter with everything in it can only reach a certain amount.
If your party is larger than 3 or if you exceed the overall weight limit, your
party will be broken up and you will be on the glacier at different times.
