ANCHORAGE – BEAR WATCHING TOURS
Fly from Anchorage to the world's most famous bear viewing site! Depart Anchorage early in the morning aboard a wheeled plane flight to King Salmon or Kulik (approx. duration 1.5 hrs). On arrival in King Salmon or Kulik, a local representative will transfer you directly to a seaplane for a 20 minute flight to Brooks Camp. After a short safety briefing about bears by a park ranger, you are free to explore the nature preserve and enjoy unguided bear viewing for about 6 hours. Viewing platforms are connected by walking trails, and are strategically placed for commanding views of brown bear activity. Rangers are based at platforms and on trails to provide information, safety, and to rotate viewing groups during busy periods. Depart for Anchorage in the early evening. Meals and transfers in Anchorage are not included. Bear viewing at Brooks River Falls is quite dependant on the annual salmon runs, with the most reliable viewing from June 25 to July 25 and September 1 to 10. However, bears are in the area throughout the summer months.NOTE: As Brooks in Katmai National Park is a very popular bear viewing place, dates in July are filling up.
