ANCHORAGE – FLIGHTSEEING TOURS
This scenic flight takes you within six miles of McKinley's 20,320 ft. summit. Fly by floatplane from Anchorage's Lake Hood, the world's busiest seaplane airport. Aerially tour over the foothills of Denali to view the entire length of the Ruth Glacier, the Great Gorge and the massive south face of McKinley. This is a truly spectacular way to get up-close to "The Great One!" A lake landing inside Denali National Park provides an opportunity for photos of the remote wilderness (weather permitting). Depart from Anchorage's Merrill Field airport very early in the morning and fly 75 minutes to Denali National Park in a small plane. As you approach and circle Mt. McKinley, watch for climbers on their way to the summit. After landing, you will board a bus for your park tour. After an approx. 1.5 hour transfer from Anchorage you arrive at Knik River Lodge. From here you will take a 30 minute helicopter flight tour with a glacier landing. Total tour length is approx. 40 minutes. After the helicopter tour, transfer back to Anchorage. NOTE: A 2-person minimum is required for this tour. Please note that there are 3 passenger seats in the helicopter. There are passenger weight limits because the overall weight of the helicopter with everything in it can only reach a certain amount. If your party is larger than 3 or if you exceed the overall weight limit, your party will be broken up and you will be on the glacier at different times. Meals are not included.
