About Fairbanks

Fairbanks, Alaska's second largest city, combines modern amenities and technology with a frontier atmosphere. Recognized as the gateway to the Arctic Circle, Fairbanks has a long and colorfulThe Chena River runs through Fairbanks history dating back to the late 1800's, the discovery of gold and the subsequent gold rush.

Our tours range from crossing the Arctic Circle to experiencing native culture and Alaska gold mining history. The Trans Alaska oil pipeline, a remarkable engineering feat bringing arctic oil to the port of Valdez can be seen locally.

Founded on the banks of the Chena river, Fairbanks today is the departure point for paddlewheel riverboat to carry passengers along the Chena and Tanana rivers. The University of Alaska museum, Musk-Ox Preserve and the historic downtown are recommended attractions. Most Fairbanks excursions and tours depart daily throughout the summer.
