Rainforest Hiking Tour from Girdwood
Hiking the Winner Creek Trail in the lush Rainforest of Girdwood is an exhilarating experience that is a memorable adventure for everyone. This moderate and exciting hike is approx. 5 miles long (roundtrip). Time and enthusiasm permitting, the hike also consists of a very unique hand tram crossing and walk over the Winner Creek Gorge. Your naturalist guide will point out and discuss the flora and fauna of North America's northern-most temperate rainforest. You may even see a moose! When blueberry season is in full swing, the trail is blooming with scrumptious delights sure to please everyone.

Good to know: No experience necessary on this excursion. This trip operates in ALL weather conditions! Please dress for the weather. You will be asked to fill out a waiver form before departing on this tour.

Alpine Hike on Alyeska Glacier from Girdwood
Just south of Anchorage, the Alyeska Glacier is nestled in a glacier bowl in the Chugach Mountains. Overlooking breathtaking views of the Turnagain Arm and towering alpine peaks, you will be amazed while peering into crevasses during this exciting hike. Ride the Alyeska Tram up the mountain and then hike for about 2 hours total (1 mile roundtrip with an 800 foot elevation gain). At the glacier's edge, you will gear up with climbing harnesses, ropes and/or crampons, and over-boots to travel out onto the glacier itself.
Tour includes: all equipment, experienced and certified mountain guides, tram ticket, interpretive glaciology discussions, a snack and water.

Good to know: While this is a moderate to strenuous activity, no previous experience is needed. This trip operates in ALL weather conditions! Please dress for the weather. You will be asked to fill out a waiver form before departing on this tour.

Rock Climbing Tour from Girdwood
An exhilarating and memorable experience for all! Experienced guides teach everyone from novices to advanced climbers at either Tram Rock (at the Alyeska Resort) or along the Seward Highway, depending on weather. This tour includes a snack, climbing gear, helmet, harness, chalk-bag and rental rock shoes.

Good to know: While this is a moderate to strenuous activity, no prior experience is necessary. This trip operates in ALL weather conditions! Please dress for the weather. You will be asked to fill out a waiver form before departing on this tour.

NOTE: A 2-person minimum is required for the tour to operate. Children have to be at least 3 years old in order to participate in the tour.

Spencer Glacier Hike including kayak & train from Girdwood
Ride a train, sea kayak and explore a glacier - all in one day! This amazing and popular excursion gives you this rare opportunity! You experience beautiful scenery, blue icebergs and a majestic glacier!
Transfer from Girdwood to the Portage train station provided. After a short but scenic train ride, arrive at Spencer Glacier Whistle Stop aboard the Alaska Railroad. After a short 1 mile van ride and a safety briefing you will get be outfitted in PFDs and spray skirt.  Kayak across the Spencer Lake about 1.5 miles (about 1 hour) and enjoy outstanding views of the glacier and icebergs floating in the lake. After landing the kayaks, a short walk gains access onto the glacier. Before the glacier hike adventure starts, get a safety briefing and outfitted with helmets and crampons. For the next two to three hours you will explorer the glacier and amazing ice features including crevasses, ice caves, moulins, and more. Experienced glacier guides provide information on local wildlife, history and glaciology. Return to the Spencer Whistle Stop by kayak and van and then travel on the train back to Girdwood. Tour includes: roundtrip transfer from Girdwood, services of knowledgeable guides, use of kayak, kayaking gear, helmet and crampons, and a deli style lunch (Turkey or vegetarian sandwich option, if nothing specifically requested, Turkey sandwich will be provided.)

Good to know: This is a strenuous activity, however no experience is necessary! Participants must be physically capable of hiking up to 7 miles on potentially uneven terrain and must dress appropriately for all weather. 

NOTE: A 2- person minimum for this tour to operate.  Participants need to be at least 13, up to 70 years of age, and need to weigh at least 90lbs / up to 250lbs. This is a strenuous activity!

Spencer Glacier Ice Climbing Tour including train transfers from Girdwood
Enjoy the truly unique experience of ice climbing on a glacier. Arrive at Spencer Glacier Whistle Stop aboard the Alaska Railroad. After a short 1 mile van ride to the edge of Spencer Lake, you will be outfitted in PFDs and spray skirt. Kayak across the Spencer Lake about 1.4 miles (about 30 minutes) to the other side of the glacier. Upon arrival to the glacier, get outfitted with helmets, crampons, and ice picks. After a brief safety lesson and practice getting comfortable with the equipment, the group will venture out onto the glacier itself. About two hours will be spent climbing ice walls near the edge of the glacier. Experienced glacier guides provide information on glaciology and techniques. Return by van and train. Tour includes: roundtrip train transfer from Girdwood, services of knowledgeable guides, use of kayak, kayaking gear, climbing gear and a deli style lunch.

Bird Creek ATV Tour from Bird Creek/Seward Highway
Access Alaska's backcountry! Drive a few minutes to Bird Creek, an area with a maze of trails winding through temperate rainforest. With your guide, ride trails hidden even to locals. You'll also take a short hike to a clear water pool with spawning salmon and a spectacular waterfall. Bear, moose and eagles can also be seen in this area depending on the time of year (not guaranteed).
Tour includes: Safety gear, raingear and water. 
Not included: transfers to and from your hotel (tour departs from Bird Creek)
 

IMPORTANT NOTE: This tour does NOT depart from Girdwood. The tour departs from Bird Creek which is located on the Seward Highway between Anchorage and Girdwood. Transportation from Girdwood is NOT available. You will have to have your own transportation to get to the starting point of this tour. 
A 2- person minimum is required for the tour to operate. The minimum age to operate an ATV is 16.  Please bring your own boots for this tour.  ** Second rider (sharing an ATV) available at a lesser cost. Children have to be at least 8 years old to participate on this tour
