This trip begins with a 2.5 mile moderate to challenging hike through the rainforest along Mendenhall Lake. The beginning of the trail is well maintained, while the second half is off the beaten path and requires some rock scrambling. Once you reach the glacier, you will be outfitted in trekking gear. With the use of crampons, you will trek for 1.5 hours on moderate glacier terrain overlooking Mendenhall Lake. Enjoy close-up views of ice caves, streams, crevasses and other unique glacial formations.
