Mendenhall Glacier Float Trip from Juneau
Enjoy this exciting, yet gentle introduction to white water rafting. The tour begins with a scenic drive to Mendenhall Lake, where you will suit up with gear and board an 8 to 12 passenger raft. Your professional guide will explain the natural phenomena at work in the valley as you float past Mendenhall Glacier, icebergs and towering peaks. During the float, you will encounter stretches of moderate rapids that add excitement to the trip. Once ashore you will enjoy an Alaskan-style snack. Glacier View Guided Sea Kayaking Tour from Juneau

Spend the day exploring the Juneau's scenic coastal region by two person kayak, with a backdrop of tall majestic mountains and rainforest. The stable kayaks will allow you to silently approach wildlife, such as sea lions, humpback whales, orca whales, and numerous sea bird species. During your tour, you will visit the Mendenhall Wetlands, where you will have the opportunity to view the Mendenhall Glacier at a distance. Your guide will also explain the significance of places such as Smugglers Cover, the history of the surrounding area, and help identify local flora and fauna. Tour includes: rain gear & life jackets, light snack, narrated roundtrip transportation between Juneau to North Douglas Island, kayak equipment and expert instruction. Mendenhall Glacier Trek Tour from Juneau

This trip begins with a 4 mile moderate to challenging hike through the rainforest along Mendenhall Lake. The beginning of the trail is well maintained, while the second half is off the beaten path and can include areas of mud, slippery bedrock, loose gravel and multiple short, steep up and downhill sections. Once you reach the glacier, you will be outfitted in trekking gear. With the use of crampons, you will trek for approximately 1 hour on moderate glacier terrain exploring accessible features such as crevasses, ice caves and moulins. Return to Juneau on the same rainforest path. Tour includes fully certified guides, all necessary gear, roundtrip transportation from Juneau, hearty snack & beverages.

IMPORTANT NOTES: There is a 2 person minimum is required to operate this tour. No experience is necessary however you much be in good physical condition and able to hike for up to 6-6.5 hours, covering 8 miles roundtrip with a 10-15 lbs backpack. The terrain is uneven and rocky, so sturdy hiking shoes are a must. Circumstances such as poor weather, inadequate footwear, or a slow pace may limit the time spent on the glacier. Unfortunately visiting specific glacier feature such as ice caves and moulins cannot be guaranteed due to the constantly changing nature of Mendenhall Glacier. Children have to be at least 12 years old in order to participate in this tour.

Helicopter Glacier Walkabout from Juneau
Helicopter Glacier Trekking is the most exciting way to explore the scenic wonders of the glaciers flowing from the Juneau Icefield. After a scenic 25 minute flight you will land on one of the glaciers located within the 1500 square-mile Juneau Icefield. Meet your professional glacier guide who will teach you basic mountaineering skills (no experience necessary) and the proper use of your equipment. On this non-strenuous, 1-hour interpretive walk, your guide will provide detailed explanations of glacier environments and allow ample time for photo opportunities. Trekking poles and crampons will provide superb balance and traction enabling you to travel easily on the gently rolling glacial terrain. The amount of walking is moderate, over relatively flat to rolling terrain.  Tour includes: Roundtrip scenic flight from Juneau, glacier trekking equipment and guide, and transfers from your hotel or the Red Dog Saloon.
