Enjoy a historical tour of Juneau including the state capitol. Then, turn up the road to Gold Creek and “Last Chance Basin”, where Joe Juneau and Richard Harris struck gold in 1880. Now it is time for you to try your luck and learn how to pan and capture the full gold-rush experience. The tour ends with a delicious meal at the Gold Creek Salmon Bake. The salmon bake has a beautiful setting, in lush rain forest alongside a creek, under translucent domes that protect you from the elements, rain or shine. Savor the aroma of wild salmon, grilling slowly over fires of fragrant alder wood. Mendenhall Glacier Trek Tour from Juneau

This trip begins with a 4 mile moderate to challenging hike through the rainforest along Mendenhall Lake. The beginning of the trail is well maintained, while the second half is off the beaten path and can include areas of mud, slippery bedrock, loose gravel and multiple short, steep up and downhill sections. Once you reach the glacier, you will be outfitted in trekking gear. With the use of crampons, you will trek for approximately 1 hour on moderate glacier terrain exploring accessible features such as crevasses, ice caves and moulins. Return to Juneau on the same rainforest path. Tour includes fully certified guides, all necessary gear, roundtrip transportation from Juneau, hearty snack & beverages.

IMPORTANT NOTES: There is a 2 person minimum is required to operate this tour. No experience is necessary however you much be in good physical condition and able to hike for up to 6-6.5 hours, covering 8 miles roundtrip with a 10-15 lbs backpack. The terrain is uneven and rocky, so sturdy hiking shoes are a must. Circumstances such as poor weather, inadequate footwear, or a slow pace may limit the time spent on the glacier. Unfortunately visiting specific glacier feature such as ice caves and moulins cannot be guaranteed due to the constantly changing nature of Mendenhall Glacier. Children have to be at least 12 years old in order to participate in this tour.

Glacier View Guided Sea Kayaking Tour from Juneau

Spend the day exploring the Juneau's scenic coastal region by two person kayak, with a backdrop of tall majestic mountains and rainforest. Tracy Arm Fjords Glacier Cruise Excursion from Juneau

Mendenhall Glacier Landing Tour from Juneau

Helicopter Glacier Walkabout from Juneau
Helicopter Glacier Trekking is the most exciting way to explore the scenic wonders of the glaciers flowing from the Juneau Icefield. After a scenic 25 minute flight you will land on one of the glaciers located within the 1500 square-mile Juneau Icefield.
