Admiralty Island High Season Pack Creek Bear Viewing Tour from Juneau

This is an exciting bear viewing tour for individuals with limited time but who want to experience the awe and majesty of Admiralty Island, known as the "Fortress of the Bears" by the Tlingit native people. Fly by float plane and be led by your experienced pilot/guide to world famous Pack Creek.

NOTE: Due to safety concerns, there is a 250 lb per person weight limit on this tour. Participants must be able to get in and out of the floatplane unaided. Also, participants must be fit enough to hike/walk a few miles in waders through wilderness and dress appropriately for the weather. All passenger weights need to be provided at time of booking.

SPECIAL TERMS: Full payment is due at time of booking! Cancellation terms: if cancelled up to 61 days prior: USD 50 per person fee applies; if cancelled 60 - 0 days prior the tour is non-refundable. If the tour gets cancelled due to weather a $50 per person fee will be charged, the rest is refundable. The $50 per person fee is the forest service fee which is non-refundable!

Admiralty Island Pack Creek Bear Viewing Tour from Juneau

This classic Alaskan wildlife safari focuses on nature and wildlife viewing. Depart from Juneau on a float plane for an approximately 30 minute flight across the Inside Passage to Admiralty Island, known as the "Fortress of the Bears" by the Tlingit native people. The island is a paradise for animals and boasts one of the highest concentrations of brown (grizzly) bears in the world - nearly one bear per square mile! From vantage points chosen by your guide, you can observe and photograph the bears safely while they catch and eat salmon. 

NOTE: A 2 person minimum is required to operate this tour. Due to safety concerns, there is a 250 lb per person weight limit on this tour. Participants must be able to get in and out of the floatplane unaided. Also, participants must be fit enough to hike/walk a few miles through wilderness and dress appropriately for the weather. Admiralty Wildlife Kayak & Brown Bear Viewing from Juneau

Experience Admiralty Island and Pack Creek by floatplane and kayak. Tour begins with a 25 minute scenic flight in a floatplane to Windfall Island. Then sea kayak about a mile to the edge of the Pack Creek Brown Bear Sanctuary on Admiralty Island, home to the highest concentration of brown bears in the world. A short walk along the beach brings you to the mouth of the creek where bears are known to feed. You may also walk a mile through old growth forest to the upper creek observation tower. Then return to Juneau by kayak and floatplane. Trip includes transfers to and from Juneau, roundtrip floatplane flight, kayaks and paddling gear, a snack and bottled water.

Bear viewing at Pack Creek is quite dependant on the annual salmon runs, with the most reliable viewing typically during July and August. However, bears are in the area throughout the summer months.

NOTE:
