6-8 Hour Pack Creek Bear Preserve / Admiralty Island Bear Viewing Tour from Juneau
The tour starts from the Juneau International Airport (transfers to/from airport on own). Here you will receive an orientation and then you will board a classic Alaska float plane for an approx. 25 minute flight to Admiralty Island. Along the way, your guide will point out the topography and natural features of Admiralty Island seen out the window. You may be lucky and see whales or bears on the beach as you approach the island! Your aircraft will land on the water and taxi to the beach where you will offload. Once on the beach, you will spend the next approx. 5 hours in bear country, walking about a mile within the viewing estuary where bears are likely to be seen foraging or fishing for salmon. Afterwards flight back to Juneau. Return to Juneau at approx. 20:00H.  A box lunch and snack is included.

Good to know: Due to safety concerns, participants must be able to get in and out of the floatplane and walk to the end of a narrow float, stepping down into knee high water and wading to shore without any kind of railing or support for assistance (short distance). Once on shore participants may be on their feet for as much as 2 hours at a time, and must be capable of walking in high grass, uneven, muddy and watery ground (in knee high rubber boots or good waterproof hiking boots). Participants will be outside exposed to the weather for the duration of the ground portion of the tour in areas with no shelter of any kind, even on days that may be cool, wet and windy. No restroom facilities available.
