Summit Excursion - 8:15am (8:15H) departure

Fraser Meadows Steam Train Journey from Skagway

Take a journey on an authentic steam locomotive to Fraser Meadows, located 6 miles beyond the White Pass Summit. No other railroad is quite like the White Pass & Yukon Route. Against all odds, the iron trail was carved through some of the North's most rugged terrain in 1898. This engineering wonder climbs nearly 3,000 feet in 26 miles of steep grades and cliff-hanging turns. Chilkoot Trail Hike & Float from Skagway

This tour includes a visit to the ghost town of Dyea, a hike through Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, and a relaxing rafting trip. Retrace the steps of the Gold Rush stampeders on the famous Chilkoot Trail, hiking through a green moss-covered northern temperate rainforest. At the end of the 1.8 mile one-way hike, depart on a relaxing river float on the tranquil Taiya River.  Tour includes: Guided hiking, rafting and a snack.  Not included: Transfers in Skagway (Tour departs from the pier near the crusie ship tour departures).

NOTE: The hike is moderately difficult over uneven, hilly terrain for the first mile, then on mostly flat ground for the remainder. Participants should be in good physical condition.

Yukon Discovery Tour from Skagway

This tour is a favorite among those seeking a more complete Gold Rush experience. Travel 140 miles roundtrip on an awesome adventure into Canada's Yukon Territory! Experience the beauty of the Klondike Highway as you travel north in a comfortable mini-coach, paralleling much of the original White Pass Trail to the summit and beyond. View icy lakes, glaciers, and magnificent waterfalls. Stand on the shores of Lake Bennett, experience the world's smallest desert, view turn-of-the-century mines, shop for souvenirs, and watch for wildlife! A visit to a premier educational wildlife gallery, featuring over 100 Yukon and ice age mammals on display, along with the world's largest mounted polar bear, is included. You'll also tour a sled dog camp, where you can pet the sled dogs, play with the puppies, and hear the adventures of winter dog sledding in the Yukon. Yukon Jeep Klondike Adventure Tour from Skagway

Take turns driving a Jeep Wrangler® on the Klondike Highway, paralleling the train past magnificent waterfalls and spectacular scenery on an historic Gold Rush route. Your tour guide provides narration and answers questions from the lead vehicle by 2-way radio on this tour. Leave behind the coastal rainforest as you cross the Canadian border into the sub-arctic alpine tundra of the 'Tormented' Valley, a virtual moonscape. View Pitchfork Falls, Moore Bridge, Dead Horse Gulch, and Bracket Wagon Trail en-route to the village of Carcross. Your rugged Jeep will take you up Montana Mountain, where your panorama includes a view of the Carcross Desert, the smallest desert in the world.
