SKAGWAY – WHITEPASS AND YUKON ROUTE RAILWAY

Summit Excursion - 8:15am (8:15H) departure

Relive the gold rush with the White Pass & Yukon Route Railway as it steams through its second century of history! This forty-mile roundtrip train ride climbs from tidewater at Skagway to the Summit of the White Pass, a 2,865 foot rise in elevation! Built in 1898 during the Klondike Gold Rush, this narrow gauge railroad is an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark. Experience the breathtaking panorama of mountains, glaciers, gorges, waterfalls, tunnels, trestles and historic sites from the comfort of vintage parlor cars. Not included: meals or transfers within Skagway (Tour departs from the White Pass Railroad Depot, approx 5-15 min walk from the cruise ship docks).

NOTE:  If you are traveling on a cruise ship and would like to book this tour departure on a Wednesday as a shore excursion, please contact your cruise line.

Fraser Meadows Steam Train Journey from Skagway

Take a journey on an authentic steam locomotive to Fraser Meadows, located 6 miles beyond the White Pass Summit. No other railroad is quite like the White Pass & Yukon Route. Against all odds, the iron trail was carved through some of the North's most rugged terrain in 1898. This engineering wonder climbs nearly 3,000 feet in 26 miles of steep grades and cliff-hanging turns. Not included: meals or transfers within Skagway (Tour departs from the White Pass Railroad Depot, approx 5-15 min walk from the cruise ship docks).
