Kenai Fjords 3-Day
Guided Kayaking
Experience Aialik Bay
where glaciers shed
their ice to create some
of the most magnificent
scenery in Kenai Fjords
National Park. Enjoy
kayaking amidst seals
and ice while watching
numerous sea birds soar
overhead. During this 3
day kayaking and camping
trip, you will have the
opportunity to
experience this
wonderland of mountains
and ice up-close and
personal.

3 Days / 2 Nights
Day 1:
Seward Departure *
Early this morning
(approx. 7:45am), you
will depart from
Seward's Small Boat
Harbor on a boat cruise
through Resurrection
bay. Watch for eagles,
puffins, sea otters,
orcas and more as you
head to Holgate Glacier.
At the glacier, the
group will set up camp.
Be prepared for the
fumble and hum of
calving ice and the
breathtaking scenery.
After
lunch, spend the
afternoon and evening
exploring Holgate Arm.
Kayak instruction, skill
development and paddle
techniques will be
reviewed on the
shoreline before
departing to the
glacier. Sea kayaking
amidst 'bergie bits'
(small pieces of glacier
ice) is a unique
opportunity and thrill!
The distinct sound of
the popping of 1,000
year old glacier ice
will be broken only by
the sound of the
thunderous calving that
occurs in the distance.
Upon return to the camp
this evening, enjoy a
hear meal before
settling in for the
night. Overnight
camping. (Lunch and
dinner included)

Important Notes below.
Day
2:
Sea Kayaking
The day will be spent
sea kayaking, with
breath-taking paddling
opportunities. Your
guide will consider the
weather, tide and group
desires in planning the
days' kayaking
adventure. Quicksand
Cove and Pederson Lagoon
are favorite
destinations. Quicksand
Cove is a beautiful
sandy beach surrounded
by spruce forest and
white capped hanging
glaciers. Here you can
paddle past sea stacks
and sea arches jutting
from the waters edge
while watching puffins
dive. Pederson Lagoon is
a stunning area, and,
with the correct timing,
the group will be able
to kayak up a tidal
river through icebergs
to enjoy lunch upon
glacial moraine.
On
return to camp, a beach
side dinner will be
prepared. For those with
energy, enjoy an evening
walk. Overnight camping.
(All meals included).
Day 3:
Return to Seward
You day begins with an
early breakfast before
breaking down the
campsite. A morning of
sea kayaking may be
available before the
boat returns. The
wildlife cruise back to
Seward will visit a
sea-lion haul out and
bird rookery. Tour
concludes upon arrival
in Seward, between 5pm
and 7pm (weather and
wildlife viewing
conditions can affect
arrival time).
(Breakfast and lunch
included).
