Caribou Lodge is located on a remote lake above the timberline in the Talkeetna Mountains just southeast of Denali National Park and east of Talkeetna, Alaska. Nature and tranquility are the only neighbors. The lodge offers fantastic views of Mt. McKinley, the Alaskan Range, and the beautiful Talkeetna Mountains. Wildlife abounds in the area and can be observed from the comfort of the lodge and the cabins. Mike & Pam have lived at Caribou Lodge year round for the last 15 years.  They offer a great taste of life on the true Alaskan Frontier.  This winter scene is combined with Mount McKinley in the back ground and potential northern lights in the evening.  Caribou Lodge offers an extraordinary experience of a lifestyle you will never forget.

5 days / 4 nights

 

Day 1: Arrive Anchorage

Pick up your rental car upon arrival at the Anchorage airport. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to explore the town or enjoy an optional activity such as a horse-drawn sleigh ride (not included in tour price). Overnight in Anchorage.

 

Day 2: Anchorage to Talkeetna / 113 miles

This morning drive 2 hours north to the town of Talkeetna.  From here, you will take an early afternoon ski-plane flight to Caribou Lodge; flight duration is approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival, you will be met by your hosts, Mike and Pam, and be shown around the lodge. This evening enjoy a home-cooked meal, relax in the lodge, and watch for the Northern Lights. Overnight at Caribou Lodge in a private cabin.

 

Day 3: Caribou Lodge

After a hearty breakfast, explore the area on snow-shoes, cross country skis, and/or dog sled; all activities and guiding is included in your package. This evening relax next to the fire after dinner.  Again, be on the look-out for the Northern Lights tonight.  Overnight at Caribou Lodge in a private cabin.

 

Day 4: Caribou Lodge to Anchorage

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before departing on your ski-plane flight back to Talkeetna. Take some time and explore this quaint town before returning to Anchorage with a new appreciation of life in the Alaskan Wilderness.  Overnight in Anchorage.

 

Day 5: Departure

Return your rental car and depart.

4 nights accommodation (2 nights in Anchorage, 2 nights at Caribou Lodge); 5 days SUV rental; Round trip flights from Talkeetna to Caribou Lodge; all meals and guide service while at Caribou Lodge; all taxes.
