Valdez offers the snow and landscape that portrays and Alaskan winter.  The surrounding Chugach mountains receive up to 900 inches of fresh powder each year. Helicopter and snow-cat skiing and snowboarding are the best in the world ranging from intermediate to extreme. Cold temperatures serve to freeze waterfalls around Valdez , providing unparalleled ice climbing opportunities.  Valdez offers a taste of winter that cannot be found anywhere else in Alaska.

3 days/ 2 nights

Day 1 - Arrive Valdez.  You will fly from Anchorage to Valdez aboard Era Aviation (40 minute flight).  Upon arrival, pick-up your full size rental car.  Spend the day exploring Valdez's frozen waterfalls or perhaps take a guided tour of the Alaska Pipeline.  Overnight in Valdez at the Best Western Harbor Inn.

Day 2 - Valdez; Explore the area on your own.  You may choose to ski, sightsee, or just relax.  Overnight in Valdez at the Best Western Harbor Inn.

Day 3 - Return to Anchorage.  Spend the morning walking the docks and exploring the waterfront before heading back to Anchorage this evening.

Land's End is modern hotel located on the shores of Kachemak Bay.  Imagine relaxing in a beachfront spa with spectacular mountain views across the bay, or a work out with state of the art exercise equipment.  The resort’s Chart Room Restaurant offers great food, also amidst breathtaking panoramic views. Homer's best restaurant for over 40 years, with choice meats and fresh salmon, halibut and other local seafood prepared to perfection.  Homer is a winter feeding ground for the magnificent Bald Eagle, here you will consistently find these grand creatures in significant numbers.

3 days / 2 nights

Day 1 - Arrive Homer aboard Era Aviation; Homer is just a 50-minute flight from Anchorage On arrival, pick-up a rental car.  Explore your surroundings, perhaps stopping at the renowned Pratt Museum before driving to the Land's End Resort, located at the "end of the road".  Overnight at the Land's End Resort.  

Day 2 - Homer:  Spend the day on the Homer spit.  Enjoy a walk on the beach or jsrt relaxing. Overnight at the Land's End Resort.

Day 3 - Homer - Anchorage; Enjoy a continental breakfast at the resort, and leisurely morning in Homer  exploring by car, or relaxed and pamper yourself in the resort spa.  Return flight to Anchorage in the mid-afternoon or early evening.

For over 50 years, the Sheep Mountain Lodge has hosted travelers from across Alaska and around the world.  Located along the scenic Glenn Highway , approximately 2 hours driving time from Anchorage . Guests enjoy spectacular mountain views, local outdoor recreational activities, cabins with private bath and showers, delicious home cooked meals, and old fashioned Alaskan hospitality that has made Sheep Mountain Lodge famous. 

The lodge has easy access to many great cross-country skiing trails, snowshoe routes, & snow machine trails (information on rentals available).  After a busy day of playing in the snow, a wood stove sauna or hot tub will perfectly end your day.

3 days/ 2 nights

Friday - Anchorage to Sheep Mountain; pick-up your rental car this morning in Anchorage. You'll enjoy a spectacular two hour drive through the Matanuska Valley.  Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch.  Settle into your cabin and enjoy a home-style dinner tonight.  Overnight at Sheep Mountain Lodge.

Saturday - Sheep Mountain;   Spend the day exploring the area.  Included into your package is a dog sled ride.  Relax at the lodge this evening. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included today.  Overnight at Sheep Mountain Lodge.

Sunday - Sheep Mountain to Anchorage:  Wake-up this morning refreshed from a great weekend.  Breakfast will be served before your return to Anchorage.  You will need to drop off your car rental today.
