Fairbanks, Alaska’s second largest city, is a hub for winter activity. This 2-night package includes Aurora viewing and a guided tour of the city's main attractions. This tour is great for visitors with limited time and works well in conjunction with our other winter tour itineraries.

Depart from your hotel for a 5-hour sightseeing tour of Fairbanks. Visit
the Museum of the North at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where you will
marvel at the natural and cultural history of Alaska and discover the science
behind the Northern Lights. From here, travel to the UAF Large Animal Research
Station, the Trans-Alaska Oil Pipeline, the Fairbanks Visitor Center, and the
Alaska House Native Art Gallery. On days when it is open, you will visit the
world famous Santa Claus House; you may even get to meet Kris Kringle and his
reindeer! Your tour concludes at your hotel.
At 10pm, you will be picked up
for an Aurora viewing tour. A 45-minute drive will take you to the Aurora
Borealis Lodge, a beautiful, spacious Alaskan log building designed especially
for viewing the Northern Lights. Located on Cleary Summit 20 miles north of
Fairbanks, the lodge is situated away from the city lights that can hinder
Aurora viewing. We recommend that you dress warmly for this tour, so you may
view the Northern Lights from outdoors. If you become cold, the large,
north-facing windows allow for optimal viewing from the warmth of the lodge. Hot
beverages are provided. Your driver will return to you to your hotel at around
2:30am. (SPECIAL NOTE: Reserved tour date may change due to weather, Aurora
activity, or other considerations, even after the tour has been confirmed. You
will be consulted regarding any changes).
