A 45-minute jet boat ride will bring you from Wrangell through the Eastern
Passage to Anan Creek. Seals, Stellar sea lions, dolphins and the occasional
orca whale feed on herring and smelt found along the route. On arrival, walk the
rainforest trail (1/2-mile) to the observatory platform where your guide will
give a bear safety briefing. The multi-level observatory platform provides
excellent opportunities for viewing black and brown bears fishing 30 feet below
you and across river. Time spent at the platform is determined by the guide
based on local conditions, though it is usually between 4 and 5 hours. Local
transfers, guided excursion to AnAn Creek, park fee, and soft drinks are
included.
